1 Visit UNISA Website

a. Go to www.unisa.ac.za, You will see a button "First-time Unisa Applicants" within the website and click it

b. Check application dead lines: Applications opened 16 April 2025 and will close 10 October 2025

c. Download the Prospectus & Choose Your Programme Click here to download the Prospectus or visit unisa website

Have the following information ready before you Start Step 1

• Full Names
• Identification Number(ID) - Get this from your Identity Document
• Working Gmail Address
• A Strong Password For Your Profile
• Postal/Physical Address
• Your Matric results/Grade 11 exam final results

Refer to the images below if you do not understand AND click step 4 to start your application.

2 Start your Unisa Application process.

a. In the first modal, pick Undergraduate, and continue to the next step.

b. Now choose No when you are asked if you have a student number, because you do not yet have a student number, or if you do click yes and follow on screen prompts.

c. Next step is to enter your personal Info, this includes your surname/last name, first /and middle name along with your date of birth and continue to the next step.

3 Admission Calculation to check if you qualify.

a. On this step choose the option that is more applicable to you, if you already finished matric choose "Passed only matric/grade 12 exams" or "I am currently in school doing grade 12" if you only have your grade 11 results and click continue.

b. Upon choosing "Passed only matric/grade 12 exams" in the previous step, now enter your ID(Identification Number), only for South African Students.

4 Admission Calculation to check if you qualify.

a. This step will check your APS score to determine whether you qualify for a certain qualification or not.

b. Now choose NSC entry level Bachelor's Degree and continue.

c. Now enter your matriculation subjects and results, choose from the drop down options.

5 Choose the qualification you want to study for.

a. You will enter the details of the qualification you want to study for, you must choose at least 1-3.

b. Choose the 3 qualifications and continue to confirm if they are correct, if they are not click the "Back" button to make changes, but if they are correct you can continue to the next steps.

6 Add more of your personal details.

a. In the previous steps you have included your personal details but you were not done, now you need to enter your initials, title, gender, ID, and check for disability.

b. Upon continuing you will have to add your cell phone number and relevent stuff/details.

7 Postal/Physical Address.

a. Continue to add your address, home language and proceed to the next steps.

8 School Leaving Information.

a. Please choose the options that are most relevent to you in this step and confirm if you have "Acess to study online throough laptop/desktop" and if you have "Access to data" and continue to the next steps.

9 Confirm your qualification details, and agree to the terms

a. Now we have to come to the end or rather 2 steps from the end to completing your application.

b. Now once again you have the opportunity to check if you have picked the right courses for yourself, if there are no mistakes, read and agree to the terms.

c. Now this is the step you have been waiting for, click the submit button to submit your application.

d. NOTE: You are not done with your application as yet, follow the next steps below.

10 Submit your documents And confirm you Apllication details.

a. Now we have come to the end of your application. All you have to do is submit you ID(Identity Document) and your Matric results/Grade 11 results.

b. After you choose your documents don't forget to click upload to make sure they are submitted.

c. Once again you are provided with the opportunity to confirm your details, so double check and continue

Don't also forget to pay your application fee of R150, if you fail to pay this fee your application will not be processed. The good news is that you do not have to pay immediatly, you can always opt to pay later.

Upon completing all the necessary steps you will now receive an email entailing your your application details along with your student number.

11 Check you admision status and pay application fee.

a. You are done with your application, now we need to polish up a few things.

b. Click this link to pay the application fee if you haven't paid and check your admission status.

c. Upon clicking the link you will be prompted to enter your student number(Get this from the email you received), and next enter your full names and date of birth and you will access the portal.
